The government has raised the cost of petrol by Rs. 4.42 per liter and diesel by Rs. 6.10 per liter.

There has been an increase in the prices of the petroleum products by the federal government, resulting in an increase in the prices of petrol and diesel.
According to a notice issued by the Petroleum Division, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs 4.42 per litre and diesel by Rs 6.10 per litre.
Therefore, the new prices of petrol and diesel would be as follows:
Petrol: Rs 380.24
Diesel: Rs 409.42
It has been stated in the notice by the Petroleum Division that the new prices will come into effect from 15 September 2026 and will continue to operate for one day only.
This increase in prices is expected to put extra pressure on the budget of the citizens at a time when people are facing rising living costs.
The citizens have shown concern regarding the high fuel prices and have said that this would make it difficult for them to manage their expenses. Some respondents have commented that the high cost of living has already created difficulties for the citizens to fulfill their basic requirements.
