Aleema Khan receives the ninth non-bailable arrest warrant from the ATC.

Aleema Khan is the subject of the ninth non-bailable arrest warrant issued by the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC).

Details reveal that the Sadiqabad police case has issued the seventh arrest order against the sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf founder Imran Khan because she has been missing court appearances on a regular basis.

Judge Amjad Ali Shah issued the order, pointing out that Aleema Khan had not shown up for court despite earlier warrants. A report about the freezing of her financial accounts was also presented during the hearing. According to the report, MCB and Bank Alfalah have frozen a total of 12 Alema Khan accounts. There is a reported amount of PKR 1.24 crore in one MCB account.

Additionally, the court issued non-bailable warrants against Manager Syed Mansoor Hussain and other bank executives from Habib Metro Bank and UBL Head Office Karachi for their failure to show up and turn in necessary reports. Notices of contempt of court were issued as a result of Golden Bank and Bank of Punjab officials’ failure to provide the documents.

Aleema Khan has been purposefully neglecting court hearings, impeding the legal system, and postponing the trial, the prosecutors told the court. Her actions were characterised by the court as an intentional attempt to disparage the criminal justice system.

The ATC further directed that Aleema Khan’s properties be confiscated in the upcoming stage of the case and ordered the gathering of information about her immovable and moveable assets. The Islamabad Commissioner, the Chairman CDA, and the Chairman SECP were also ordered by the court to furnish information on any businesses or stock that were registered in her name.

The trial was further delayed since witness testimony could not be recorded during the hearing because the accused and her attorney were not present.
