Drug overdoses and severe heat cause eight deaths in Karachi.

Rescue officials reported on Monday that at least eight individuals had died in Karachi as a result of suspected drug overdoses and the prolonged period of intense heat.

Rescue sources report that four people died while receiving treatment at various medical facilities throughout the city, while three people died as a result of excessive drug usage.

As temperatures in Karachi continue to rise, the rescue report added that one person perished from the extreme heat. Three dead were also found by the authorities in Manghopir, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, and Defense Phase 8.

Furthermore, three further deaths were recorded during treatment in various locations, including as Liaquatabad, Clifton, and the Super Highway.

On SPARCO Road in Baldia Town, a body was also found close to Tayyaba Mosque. According to eyewitnesses, the person’s death was probably caused by the intensity of the city’s heatwave.

During severe weather, officials have advised locals to be cautious, abstain from substance misuse, and take the appropriate safety measures, such as limiting outside exposure and staying hydrated.
