Field Marshal Asim Munir discusses commerce and security with US congressmen: ISPR

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces of Pakistan, was visited by two members of the US House of Representatives, Ryan Keith Zinke and Michael James, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Monday, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s propaganda wing said that topics of common interest, regional security, bilateral defense cooperation, and chances to strengthen economic cooperation and shared prosperity were the main topics of discussion.

Field Marshal Munir emphasized Pakistan’s enormous economic potential and emphasized that increased connectivity, increased commerce, and economic growth are all essential to long-term regional stability. Additionally, he described Pakistan’s ongoing structural reforms that are intended to draw in international investment and foster a business-friendly atmosphere.

The visiting US legislators recognized Pakistan’s critical role in fostering economic resilience and regional stability. Both sides also talked about how to improve private sector alliances, boost commerce between the two nations, and broaden bilateral economic involvement by drawing on their respective professional backgrounds.

According to the ISPR, the group underlined a shared commitment to strengthening institutional, commercial, and economic ties between the US and Pakistan and thanked the military leadership for its cordial welcome.
