Govt hikes fuel price by Rs3.66, diesel by Rs4.80 per litre

The Government has announced another increase in the prices of petroleum products with the hike in the price of both petrol and high-speed diesel announced under the latest fuel price revision.
According to the official notification, the petrol price is increased by Rs3.66 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs335.18 per litre.
The price of high speed diesel has also been raised by Rs4.80 per litre to make it Rs383.46 per litre.
The Petroleum Division said OGRA has determined the revised prices that will come into effect from midnight.
The latest hike is projected to pile further upward pressure on travel expenses and prices of food and other key commodities, prompting concerns of another uptick in inflation and the cost of living for consumers.
High-speed diesel is commonly used in transport, industrial and agricultural sectors. Petrol is the main fuel for private vehicles and motorcycles.
