Hearing on summary non-approval for appointment of judges today

Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear a matter regarding non-approval of summary by President for appointment of judges in Islamabad High Court here on Monday (today).

The petition against non-approval of the summary for appointment of new judges in Islamabad High Court ordered for re-hearing. The petition will be heard by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir at 11am.

Advocate Luqman Zafar has filed the petition against President’s failure to endorse the summary about appointment of new judges. The petitioner is represented by Advocate Zahid Asif Chaudhry.

The petition has taken the stand that directives should be made to the Secretary to the President to approve the summary for the appointment of new judges.

The petitioner, however, has sought a direction from the court to the Secretary to the President to begin measures for approval of the summary.

The Islamabad High Court has fixed Monday for re-hearing of the case, under which legal and constitutional aspects of the subject would be perused.
