Heat intensifies as Lahore hits 43C: PMD

Officials said the city of Lahore had high temperatures with mercury reaching 43 degrees Celsius on the day before, and the intensity of heat in the city continues to increase rapidly.
The Meteorological Department has said that extremely hot weather conditions are likely to prevail throughout the day today also with maximum temperature about 43 degrees Celsius. The heatwave is predicted to persist over Lahore and other parts of Punjab for the next couple of days.
On the other hand, the meteorological department has also forecasted that post May 19, there is a possibility of breezes during night hours coupled with light rains in some parts which can result in a marginal decrease in the heat intensity that is being felt today.
Citizens have also been recommended to take precautionary measures to save themselves from the excessive heat. People have been urged to avoid undue exposure to the sunlight and stay hydrated in view of the continuous heatwave conditions while following the safety rules.
