Karachi is under a heatwave alert from the Met Office.

The Early Warning Center has issued a heatwave advisory for the central and upper regions of the province, while the Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted hot and dry weather throughout the majority of Sindh’s districts, including Karachi.
Heatwave conditions are expected to continue in central and upper Sindh until May 3, 2026, according to the meteorological department’s Heat Wave Early Warning Center.
In the districts of Jamshoro, Dadu, Shaheed Benazirabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Sanghar, Khairpur, Naushehro Feroz, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Sukkur, the daytime maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 4 to 6°C.
In the advisory, the Met Office urged everyone to take precautions, remain hydrated, and avoid direct sunlight during the day, particularly women, children, and senior residents.
Additionally, farmers are encouraged to take care of their animals and manage their crop activities, such as harvesting wheat, while taking the weather into consideration.
