Kurram’s Parachinar airport becomes fully operational again

The long-closed Parachinar airport in Kurram district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has been reopened by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and Pakistan Airports Authority.

The Pakistan Army Aviation successfully conducted practice landings and takeoffs to evaluate the runway and overall operational readiness after the FWO made a significant modification.

An important step in reviving air travel in the area is the renovation of Parachinar Airport. In order to ensure preparedness for routine operations, the trials evaluated the airport and runway performance under various operational situations.

Now that the airport is open, it is anticipated to boost local economic activity, strengthen emergency response capabilities, and improve regional connectivity.
