France skipper Mbappé topped the charts with 10 goals ahead of Argentina legend Messi with eight.
England midfielder Jude Bellingham and Norway attacker Erling Haaland both scored seven goals.
Real Madrid forward Mbappe, 27, also received the award during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where France were beaten finalists.
The Frenchman, who made his World Cup debut in 2018, scored twice in Saturday’s third-place play-off which England won 6-4.
Now the top scorer in World Cup history with 22 goals in three World Cups, one ahead of Messi.The 25-year-old has scored more than 100 international goals but said: “I would have liked not to be the all-time leading scorer and to be playing tomorrow’s match.
