Mohammad Abbas captures five wickets as West Indies end innings on 211 in first Test, setting Pakistan a target of 211

The West Indies were bowled out for 181 in their second innings, setting Pakistan 211 to win the first Test between the two sides.

The hosts had a 29-run lead going into their second innings, but an early collapse saw four wickets go for just 43 runs. Tagenarine Chanderpaul made 35 runs while Justin Greaves made 20 runs before he was sent back to the pavilion. West Indies captain Roston Chase got out for 5 runs when the team total was 93.

At the end of the third day, West Indies were at 126/7, their overall advantage now 155 runs.

The bottom order gained some vital runs as the West Indies innings fell flat at 181 on the fourth day. Shamar Joseph scored 38 runs for the hosts, Jomel Warrican (20) and Kemar Roach (18) scored 20 and 18 runs respectively.

Other West Indies batsmen were Shai Hope 10, Roston Chase 8, Brandon King 5 and Aamir Jangoo 4.

Pakistan’s senior fast bowler Mohammad Abbas performed a fantastic bowling performance to pick up five wickets that helped bowl out the West Indies innings.

The two teams are all set for an entertaining clash in the opening Test and Pakistan currently need 211 runs to win the Test.
