Pakistan calls for humanitarian access and denounces Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

The OIC Ambassadorial meeting, which was convened at the UN headquarters to examine the current humanitarian situation in Lebanon, was attended by Ambassador Usman Jadoon, Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN.

He stated during the meeting that the humanitarian situation in Lebanon is dire and becoming worse every day. He claimed that the latest Israeli shelling has severely harmed civilians, particularly in the South and other heavily inhabited areas.

He declared that Pakistan strongly denounced Israel’s ongoing military aggression and reaffirmed its complete support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.He called for an immediate end to the widespread devastation of civilian infrastructure and the flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

On this occasion, Pakistan also applauded the Lebanese government’s efforts to bolster state authority and restore stability, notably the Cabinet Decision of March 2nd to enhance national security frameworks.

We also take note of Lebanon’s de-escalation efforts, particularly the four-point plan put forth by its leadership to reestablish peace and stability, Ambassador Jadoon added.

He stated that attacks on UN peacekeepers working with UNIFIL who have been hurt by Israeli strikes are highly condemned by Pakistan. He stated that dependable humanitarian access must be made available in all impacted locations and that the emergency plan must be supported.

He stated that in order to stop the regional security environment from getting worse at this crucial point, de-escalation, moderation, and renewed diplomatic engagement are desperately needed.
