Pakistan is playing a helpful role in promoting world peace, according to the Speaker of the National Assembly.

On Tuesday, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stated that Pakistan is presently confronted with numerous internal and external concerns, with regional border disputes persistently straining the national economy.

During a ceremony in Gujranwala, he remarked that the Afghanistan border had not been entirely functional for trade, and the nation had previously experienced episodes of cross-border terrorism.

He stated that Pakistan has made substantial sacrifices in the battle against terrorism, including the loss of over one hundred thousand lives, which significantly contributed to the restoration of peace and stability in the nation. He commended the national leadership for making prompt and effective decisions in response to emerging security threats.

Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stated that Pakistan maintains a robust diplomatic position among Muslim nations and persists in fostering regional and global peace. He noted that misinformation in segments of the foreign media has, at times, exacerbated tensions in the region.

He praised the government and armed forces for protecting national interests and effectively countering hostile actions, confirming the state’s dedication to eradicating terrorism in all its manifestations.

The Speaker announced that a comprehensive upgrade and beautification plan for the Gujranwala vegetable market will be incorporated into the forthcoming provincial budget to rectify longstanding infrastructural deficiencies and enhance civic amenities for traders and the public.

He observed that the state of the vegetable market in Gujranwala, akin to that of his hometown Khadian, necessitated immediate intervention to enhance sanitation, infrastructure, and overall facilitation for everybody.
