PM and President of the European Council talk on the situation in the Middle East

European Council President António Costa called Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday. The two presidents discussed their opinions on the present state of affairs in the Middle East during their friendly discussion.

The Prime Minister gave President Costa the most recent information on Pakistan’s peace initiatives and diplomatic outreach.

President Costa stated that the EU was prepared to support this process in every way possible and expressed profound gratitude for Pakistan’s positive role in fostering communication and stability in the region.

Both leaders emphasized that in order to guarantee long-term regional and international security, communication and diplomacy must continue. The two leaders also decided to stay in contact in this regard.
