PSX opens strong as KSE-100 Index jumps over 1,800 points

Tuesday’s opening of trade on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) was upbeat, with significant upward momentum.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index increased by over 1,800 points during early business hours, hitting 173,999 points. The index closed at 172,196 points, down 1,742 points, at the end of the previous trading session.

In the meantime, Asian markets showed a mixed pattern. Japan’s Nikkei 225 increased by 1.28%, while South Korea’s KOSPI Index increased by 2.3%. Additionally, Malaysia’s FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI rose by 1.05%.

Furthermore, markets in Thailand and Hong Kong saw modest increases. But China’s Shanghai Composite Index fell by 0.24% and Indonesia’s Jakarta Composite Index fell by 0.52%, indicating a mixed performance throughout the region.
