Section 144 enacted at Hub River following drowning incidence

The Balochistan government has implemented Section 144 at Hub River, prohibiting swimming and all recreational activities in the vicinity. The decision ensues from a horrific occurrence on Sunday, wherein three individuals drowned.

An official notification from the Home Department prohibits bathing, swimming, and recreational activities inside the river’s boundaries. Access to perilous areas along the riverbanks has been rigorously curtailed.

The prohibition is effective immediately and will persist for 60 days, although authorities may prolong or modify it based on circumstances. Transgressors would encounter legal repercussions in accordance with Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code and other pertinent legislation.

The Home Department has instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Hub, along with police and law enforcement agencies, to follow the order rigorously.
Officials underscored that the preservation of human life is the government’s paramount concern, and all requisite actions will be implemented to ensure public safety.
