The ECC acknowledges pricing stability and endorses additional grants.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) observed on Monday a positive trend in price stability and a reduction in inflationary pressures on vital commodities, emphasising the downward trajectory of key indicators, enhanced supply-side coordination, and focused policy measures.

The committee, chaired by the Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, also sanctioned a range of fiscal initiatives and reforms to bolster economic stability and governance.

The committee was apprised that, after a phase of volatility, recent data suggests a progressive stabilisation in pricing, bolstered by concerted actions at the federal, provincial, and district levels.

Institutional tools, especially via the National Price Monitoring Committee, have enhanced market oversight and facilitated prompt actions.

It was reported that inflationary pressures, although existent, were exhibiting signs of reduction, with emerging trends indicating enhanced price stability.

Weekly monitoring data indicates that, following a brief surge, the rate of price escalation for basic goods has decelerated, with recent weeks demonstrating a downward trend in the Sensitive Price Index (SPI). Several key goods have had price declines, while others have exhibited very slight rises, signifying a general alleviation of pricing pressures.

The ECC was informed that the prices of essential food and household items are steadily approaching more stable levels, with certain commodities nearing pre-volatility benchmarks.

This tendency has been ascribed to efficient administrative strategies, increased supply chain oversight, and augmented collaboration between federal and provincial entities.

The committee observed with approval that the integration of prompt policy measures, enhanced monitoring systems, and synchronised execution has started to have favourable results, evidenced by evident stabilisation in the pricing of necessary goods and an uplifted market sentiment.

Subsequently, the ECC addressed standard agenda items and ratified several suggestions, including Technical.
