The President arrives in China for discussions on economic and trade collaboration.

President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in China on Saturday to commence his week-long visit at the request of the Chinese government.

The president arrived in Changsha, China, where he was greeted by Hu Xusheng, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress.

The ambassadors of both nations were present at the event. During his visit to Changsha, the President will convene discussions with the provincial authorities, as stated in a released announcement.The President of Pakistan will visit the birthplace and former residence of Chairman Mao Zedong in Shaoshan, Hunan Province, China.

President Asif Ali Zardari departed for China earlier. Governor of Punjab, Sardar Saleem Haider Khan, bid farewell to the President at Lahore Airport.

He is visiting at the invitation of the Government of the People’s Republic of China. The President will visit Changsha in Hunan Province and Sanya in Hainan Province.

He will convene talks with provincial leadership to deliberate on Pakistan-China bilateral relations, emphasising economic and commercial collaboration as well as the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The visit is integral to the enduring tradition of high-level contacts between Pakistan and China and is particularly significant in light of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, which is being celebrated this year.

Agreements and memoranda of understanding will be executed between the Sindh government and Chinese enterprises during the president’s visit.

President Zardari’s visit to China will enhance economic collaboration, commerce, and the strategic alliance on CPEC between the two nations.
