All 7,000 union councils in Punjab will have Safe City cameras installed in their streets and neighbourhoods as part of the concept.

A summary of the working papers for the camera installation has been given to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for approval.

It is anticipated that the project will cost Rs 5 billion.

The Chief Minister will direct the establishment of a monitoring system at the union council level, utilising cutting-edge technology to keep an eye on each street and neighbourhood.

According to officials, the project aims to improve public safety and decrease street crime while extending the Safe City concept to Punjab’s grassroots level.
