Weather continues hot, dry across majority of country

Most sections of the country are likely to see hot and dry weather for the next 12 hours stated Pakistan Meteorological Department.

The report further said that the morning temperature was recorded at 19°C in Islamabad, 28°C in Lahore, 27°C in Karachi, 20°C in Peshawar, 18°C in Quetta and Muzaffarabad, 12°C in Gilgit and 15°C in Murree.

No rain is forecast in most areas in the next few hours and the overall weather will stay dry and hot, the agency said. Temperatures during the day are expected to become even warmer.

The weather officials also said dry weather prevailed in numerous cities of Indian controlled Kashmir including Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla. Minimum temperatures were recorded as 13°C in Anantnag and Shopian, 27°C in Jammu, 6°C in Leh and 14°C in Pulwama and Baramulla.

The weather authority has encouraged the residents to take preventive steps during hot weather and avoid undue exposure to sunlight.
