Calls on COAS from US Centcom commander

The Pakistan Army’s actions in the fight against terrorism have been commended by the US commander. Moreover, Pakistan’s initiatives to promote regional peace and stability were commended by the US commander.

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, and the Chief of the Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), met earlier on April 19 with General Metin Gürak, Chief of the Turkish General Staff.

General Syed Asim Munir was visited by the Chief of the Turkish General Staff at GHQ. Issues of common interest were discussed, including defense, training, and programs to support peace and stability in the region. Respecting each other’s strong bilateral ties, both parties pledged to increase defense cooperation.

General Metin Gürak visited Air Headquarters in Islamabad and separately spoke with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.
