Free education for pupils in grades 7–12 is approved by the KP cabinet.

As chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the decision was taken at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet’s fourth meeting.

The cabinet also approved the switch from manual registration boxes to automatic motor vehicle registration smart cards, another step towards modernising vehicle registration procedures.

At the meeting, a number of other significant choices were made. With an eye towards guaranteeing consistent wheat supply in the province and resolving concerns about food security, the cabinet approved the acquisition of 600,00 metric tonnes of wheat and set the price of 40 kg of wheat at Rs3,900.

Additionally approved were the 88MW Gabral-Kalam Hydropower Project in Swat and the restoration of the 17MW Ranolia Hydropower Project in Lower Kohistan, both including the purchase of 327 kanals.

Further, approval was granted for the combined districts to use funding from the former FATA Development Authority under the AIP.

In order to improve access to justice and judicial services in the area, the cabinet also approved the purchase of more than 34 kanals of land for the development of a judicial complex in Panah Kot, Upper Dir.
