May 9: ISPR prohibits planners and executors from misleading the law
The unlawful acts carried out during the riots on May 9 of last year were sharply criticized by the Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) and service chiefs on Thursday.
Although describing May 9 as one of the worst days in the nation’s history, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) claimed in a statement that politically motivated and brainwashed miscreants had intentionally used violence against state institutions and vandalized sites that belonged to the national heritage, all while acting in a rebellious manner.
After Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was arrested on May 9 of last year, angry mobs vandalized both public and private assets, including military camps.
“After their attempt to destabilize the country failed, the masterminds behind this plot launched a malicious campaign of hatred towards the government and the armed forces, hoping to manipulate the truth and place the blame on state institutions,” the military’s press branch stated.
It further stated that there can be no accommodation with those who orchestrated, supported, and carried out the May 9 catastrophe, nor will they be permitted to deceive the law of the land because of this same reason.
The statement said: “It is crucial to bring the true perpetrators of May 9th to justice so that nobody will ever again dare to desecrate our heroes’ memories and the emblems of our unity with such unjustified behavior.”
“The Pakistan Armed Forces foiled the masterful plot by the planners, facilitators, and executors who wanted to destabilize Pakistan by inciting confrontation between the people and the Armed Forces by displaying the utmost restraint during this deliberate and brazenly orchestrated violence,” the statement continued.
The military forces of Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as foiling the malicious plots of its foes, both domestic and foreign, according to the statement that follows.
Pakistan’s pride resides in our Shuhada and their families. Under no circumstances will the Pakistani Armed Forces compromise their honor and integrity. A very special bond exists between the Pakistani people and the Pakistan Armed Forces, according to the statement.
