Meeting of the PML-N general council postponed

A general council meeting was scheduled for May 11 by the PML-N.

The General Council meeting on May 28 will take place, according to a post by PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb, who made this announcement after consulting with and following the party leaders’ recommendations.

It was decided to have the meeting on this day to commemorate the 26 years that have passed since the May 28, 1998, nuclear blasts, she continued.

Previous reports suggested that Nawaz Sharif would most likely win the Central Working Committee election to become the president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) once more.

Nawaz Sharif’s leadership is essential to the success of the party, according to Rana Sanaullah, who stated this at a recent press conference on behalf of the PML-N Punjab chapter.

He stated that at the PML-N Punjab conference, a resolution was voted asking Nawaz Sharif to lead the party through this challenging period once more.

It is important to note that the former prime minister’s conviction in 2018 barred him from holding any public office.

On November 29 and December 12 of last year, respectively, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) cleared him in the Avenfield and Al-Azizia referrals. The former prime minister ran in and was elected from NA-130 Lahore in the General Elections of 2024 following his acquittal.
