PM invited opposition leaders to budget session, but they declined: Sanaullah

Senior Adviser on Political and Public Affairs to the Prime Minister Opposition leaders did not attend the federal budget session despite invitation from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah remarked.
He said this speaking to reporters following the cabinet meeting. In response to a journalist’s question if there was any debate about Azad Jammu and Kashmir in the meeting, Rana Sanaullah said the meeting was just on the budget related things.
Rana Sanaullah stated the situation in Azad Kashmir has improved a lot as compared to last two days.
He further said that Shehbaz Sharif gave three opportunities to the opposition for holding talks on the budget. If the opposition did not want to talk to the Prime Minister personally, they may do it through the Speaker National Assembly, Rana Sanaullah stated.
“Shehbaz Sharif has always believed in dialogue and that is why the opposition had been invited on several occasions for talks,” he said. Rana Sanaullah added that opposition MPs can still come to the Prime Minister’s House for discussions.
He further said that a few days ago a meeting was held between Prime Minister and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi. He stated that two days back Sohail Afridi also came to a CEC meeting.
