Regarding Toshakhana, Nawaz Sharif requests an acquittal.

Nawaz Sharif, the former prime minister and current Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, and President Asif Zardari were the targets of the Toshakhana reference heard by the accountability court, according to details.

President Asif Zardari’s attorney, Arshad Tabriz, appeared in court at the reference hearing, which was presided over by Judge Naseer Javaid Ranjha.

The former three-time prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, submitted a plea for the former PM’s acquittal through Pleader Rana Muhammad Irfan.

Requests for Nawaz Sharif to be exonerated in the case and to have Yousaf Raza Gilani removed from the premises were both approved, and a notice was issued for May 23.

While the NAB prosecutor said they have received and are reviewing the request regarding presidential exemption, the lawyer claimed that President Asif Zardari has received presidential immunity and that his case cannot move forward until that time.

The Toshakhana reference hearing has been rescheduled by the accountability court for June 3.

Recall that the Election Commission of Pakistan disqualified the PTI chief for making “false statements and incorrect declaration,” which is a significant reason why the Toshakhana issue became a major political hot potato in the country.

The verdict further stated that under sections 167 and 173 of the constitution, it was determined that the former premier had engaged in corrupt behavior. “A criminal investigation concerning the filing of a false statement will be launched against him.”
