The Punjab Chief Minister’s new plan would see electric buses on Lahore’s highways.

Major infrastructural improvements have transformed Lahore, the nation’s second-most populous city, into a cutting-edge metropolis. The expansive city will soon have electric buses.

As part of the opening of the renovation project for Shahdara Metrobus Station, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif declared the introduction of electric buses to Lahore.

As the city of more than ten million people led lists of the worst air quality in the world, CM emphasized the importance of public transportation in reducing environmental pollution.

While on her visit, CM Maryam examined the recently installed female passenger counter and gave staff members instructions to serve every passenger with excellence. Before boarding a metro bus to the Gaddafi Stadium, she was also briefed about the remodeling of the station.

The metropolitan bus serves more than 176,000 passengers per day, including 25,000 from the Shahdara station, the Secretary of Transport and Mass Transit Authority said CM.
