PCB Chairman receives stadium upgrade plan

On Wednesday, the plan to enhance three prominent venues was given to Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Naqvi’s announcement of the country’s biggest venues undergoing upgradation before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 led to this development.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, met with officials from the National Engineering Services of Pakistan (NESPAK) in a subsequent meeting to discuss the improvement of three significant venues in Pakistan, as stated in a news statement by the PCB.

The Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Salman Naseer, the Director of Infrastructure at PCB, Nasir Hameed, and the General Manager of NESPAK were present at the meeting.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was given with initial drawings for the immediate upgrade of Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, National Bank Stadium in Karachi, and Pindi Stadium in Rawalpindi in the form of a presentation.The chairman briefed the officials on his plans to improve the sightlines for fans from every seat in the stadium. He also emphasized the need of renovating the hospitality boxes at all three stadiums.

“The Chairman directed the NESPAK officials to commence work on the stadiums promptly, considering the limited time available before hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, as the upgrade plan is expected to be finalized soon.”

Mohsin Naqvi, speaking to the press at the National Bank Stadium on Monday night after the completion of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 9, recognized the necessity to enhance three main stadiums, followed by the enhancement of other locations.

Before the Champions Trophy, we will enhance our three primary locations – Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi. Once these three venues are completed, we will proceed to renovate the remaining ones. “Our stadiums will be modern and technologically advanced after undergoing renovation,” stated the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
