462 Pakistani social media accounts have been suspended

The Islamabad Police spokesperson revealed that they have identified 1522 accounts and have written a letter to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) asking them to terminate these accounts.

The spokesperson revealed that among the 462 accounts that were closed, 65 were involved in promoting religious animosity, 47 were determined to be expressing anti-national views, and 350 were active in sharing terrorist content.

Nevertheless, there are ongoing efforts to expeditiously terminate the remaining 1060 accounts.

Prior to this occurrence, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, declared that the government would not accept the utilization of social media for activities that oppose the state.

During a press conference held in Lahore today, he emphasized the importance of responsible usage of social media, stating that any use of social media that goes against the state will not be accepted.

He asserted that the government comprehends the economic difficulties confronted by the nation and that the Prime Minister convenes daily meetings to surmount these problems.

Tarar praised the current government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, for its diligent efforts towards the advancement of Pakistan.

The Information Minister expressed deep sadness and regret over the loss of valuable lives in a terrorist attack in North Waziristan. He emphasized that the military forces have made extraordinary sacrifices in the ongoing struggle against terrorism and are committed to doing so in the future.
