The appointment of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi being contested in IHC

The Pakistani Cricket Board (PCB) has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court against Mohsin Naqvi’s nomination as its chairman.

Amir Farooq, Chief Justice, postponed making a ruling until after the petition was heard.

The petitioner was asked why he thought this location was incorrect by Chief Justice Amir Farooq.

The Constitution states that the caretaker and elected prime ministers have different roles, and that the prime minister has the authority to name the Chairman PCB as Patron-in-Chief.

Lawyer petitioner: “Prime Minister caretaker cannot be the Pakistan Cricket Board’s patron-in-chief. Chief Justice questioned, “So you’re saying that the acting prime minister lacked this authority?”

Chief Justice Amir Farooq became angry with the petitioner for speaking while writing the order.

“You are speaking while writing the order, so I am not writing it. Wait for my order,” Chief Justice Aamir Farooq remarked.
