The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene tomorrow to observe the moon on Eidul Fitr in 2024.

To find out when the moon will be seen, which will indicate the conclusion of Ramadan and the happy occasion of Eid ul Fitr, the committee led by Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad will meet at the Kohsar Complex.

The meeting, which will bring together committee members and representatives from the meteorology department, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco), and the Ministry of Science and Technology, will be facilitated by Maulana Azad, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Trials pertaining to Shawwal moon sightings will be presented during the meeting, per convention. After considering this testimony, Maulana Azad will declare whether or not the moon has been seen.

Wednesday, April 10, is Eid ul Fitr, assuming the moon is visible on Tuesday. Eid will be honored on Thursday, nonetheless, if the crescent is not visible.

In order to facilitate the process of seeing the moon, meetings of zonal and district committees would be convened nationwide following Asr prayers at the same time.

The Meteorological Department has projected a high likelihood of seeing the Shawwal moon on April 9 in an effort to aid with forecasts. Around 19 to 20 hours will have passed by the time of the Maghrib prayer on April 9th, when the crescent is predicted to be born at 11:21 PM. An observer may be able to see the crescent for more than fifty minutes after nightfall.

For Eid ul Fitr, the government has already declared public holidays while the country waits impatiently for the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s decision. Six-day offices will have four public holidays from April 10 to 13, while five-day offices will have three public holidays from April 10 to 12.
